BEIJING — China’s Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA) will hold open day activities in relief and management organs across the country on June 19, as part of efforts to improve relief work on vagrants and beggars, according to a circular issued by the MCA general office.
“Policies and regulations related to relief work will be promoted and achievements made in this regard will also be displayed during the activities,” it said.
The move is also aimed at improving transparency and credibility of relief work, the circular said, adding that legislators, political advisers and journalists will be invited to visit relief agencies.
Social resources such as charitable donations and volunteers are encouraged to support the country’s relief services.
The ministry asked civil affairs departments and relief agencies at various levels to pay high attention to the event and use new media to promote relief work, it said.
