BEIJING — China hopes the visit of Nepalese Deputy Prime Minister Thapa would cement China-Nepal comprehensive cooperative partnership, said a Foreign Ministry spokesperson here on Dec 24.
Thapa, also Nepalese foreign minister, is on an official visit to China from Dec 24-29 at the invitation of Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
According to spokesperson Hong Lei, Vice-President Li Yuanchao will meet with Thapa. Wang Yi will hold talks with him.
It is highest-level delegation from the Nepal since its new government took office in October, Hong told a routine press briefing.
During Thapa’s visit, the two countries will plan their cooperation in various areas and discuss other issues of common concern, Hong said.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of China-Nepal diplomatic relations.
