China’s aviation watchdog has ordered airports to tighten security checks on cargo airlines to improve management of dangerous substances.

The orders apply to 204 airports and 56 airlines, following directions from the central government, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

The safety overhaul aims to ensure flight safety during the booming tourism season, according to the CAAC.
