Wang Yi has arrived in Dhaka on Dec 28 to start his two-day visit to Bangladesh. He will be meeting with President Addul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the head of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Khaleda Zia. Wang will also hold talks with his counterpart, Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali.

Next year marks 40 years since China and Bangladesh established diplomatic ties. The Chinese foreign ministry says it hopes to implement the important consensus reached between leaders of the two countries, expand bilateral cooperation in economy and trade and further boost China-Bangladesh relations.

Before arriving Dhaka, Wang was on a visit to Nepal, where he met with Nepalese President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, and held talks with his counterpart Mahendra Bahadur Pandey.
