How does China Center of Adoption Affairs handle the adoption application of foreign adopter?

After receiving the adoption materials, the CCAA shall accept and register the applications for those who have submitted complete materials and paid the service fees, and it will send foreign governments or adoption organizations that have submitted the materials a written notice within 30 days.

How do foreign adoptions apply to CCAA for suspension of the adoption procedure?

If foreign adopters want to suspend the adoption procedure, they shall inform the CCAA through foreign governments or adoption organization that have submitted materials for them. The time for suspending the procedure is limited to a maximum of six months and if the suspending time is more than six months, the application will be dealt with as returned file.

How do foreign adopters apply to CCAA for withdrawing the adoption?

If the foreign adopters apply for the withdrawal of the adoption, they shall inform the CCAA through foreign governments or adoption organization that have submitted materials for them.

The applicants must indicate the name of foreign adopters, the time of submitting materials, the reason of the withdrawal, the account number and name of the adoption organization and other details. In addition, the notice shall have the autography of the head of adoption organization or department.

After receiving the application of the withdrawal, the CCAA shall return the adoption material to the foreign governments and adoption organization that submit the adoption materials and return back a moderate amount of the service fee according to operating condition of the materials in the CCAA.

How to submit the post-placement report to CCAA?

Whether the adoptees join nationality of adoption country, the CCAA demands that the adoption organization shall provide post-placement report of the adoption family twice a year, the time is the sixth month and 12th month after the adoptee arrives at the adoption family. If the adopted child doesn’t join the nationality of the adopters in a year, the adoption organization shall provide the post-placement report once half a year until he or she joins the nationality of adopter.
