China to work with Netherlands to uphold multilateralism

China is willing to enhance communication and coordination with the Netherlands in international affairs and make joint efforts with the European country to uphold multilateralism and free trade, Premier Li Keqiang said in The Hague on Oct 16.

Premier Li, on an official visit to the Netherlands, made the remarks during his meeting with President of the Senate Ankie Broekers-Knol and Speaker of the House of Representatives Khadija Arib.

The Premier also highlighted the role of legislative bodies in promoting the development of bilateral relations.

Broekers-Knol and Arib said the Dutch parliament is willing to work more closely with the Chinese side and play a positive role in facilitating sound and steady development of Netherlands-China relations.

On Oct 15, Premier Li met with Dutch King Willem-Alexander and Prime Minister Mark Rutte respectively.
