Premier Li encourages Chinese companies to invest in Angola

China is willing to continuously consolidate political mutual trust and promote cooperation in various fields with Angola to better achieve mutual benefit and common development, said Premier Li Keqiang.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Angolan President Joao Lourenco at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Oct 9.

The Premier said China and Angola are important partners to each other, hailing the two countries have broad prospects for pragmatic cooperation.

The two sides should strengthen development strategies, implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), accelerate the signing of investment protection agreements, promote cooperation in key areas and further leverage the role of private enterprises, he said.

Premier Li encouraged Chinese companies to invest in Angola and urged Angola to take more measures to protect the safety of Chinese citizens.

Lourenco said Angola is willing to strengthen economic and trade cooperation with China and will provide a good environment for Chinese enterprises.
