Premier calls for greater efforts to open up and further unleash market vitality

Premier Li Keqiang has vowed to provide more support to businesses of all types to help them win and gain growth while they actively seek innovation.

He made the remarks during his inspection visit in Taizhou and Zhoushan city in East China’s Zhejiang province from Sept 27 to 28. He also chaired a symposium with business owners during the inspection.

During Premier Li’s visit to Zhejiang Pilot Free Trade Zone in the island city of Zhoushan, he emphasized that the administrative reform of streamlining administration, delegating power and improving service needs to go further.

He also highlighted consistency in implementing policies on collecting social security contributions, calling for related efforts to lower corporate costs.

While visiting a privately-owned world-class petrochemical project, the Premier stressed lowering entry barriers to major projects for private enterprises and offering them favorable policies and measures to strengthen their confidence in development.

Premier Li also paid a visit to the port of Zhoushan, where he asked the local government to make plans for a greater opening-up, and a sewing machine company in Taizhou, where he encouraged the company to gain a new competitive through technological advances.

While at the symposium with representatives from State-owned, private, and foreign-owned enterprises, along with financial institutions, the Premier promised to heed the voice of the market entities, and address their concerns.

He noted that since China has a huge market and a vast potential in human resources, the government is both confident about and capable of dealing with challenges, and keeping the economy running smoothly.

He also vowed to uphold the development of all enterprises regardless of ownership, better the business environment, further reduce taxes and fees, and bring down enterprises’ cost in financing and logistics. Also, small and micro enterprises should enjoy more preferential policies, according to Premier Li.

Fully recognizing the economic achievements made by Zhejiang province, Premier Li stressed the need for the province to continue to lead the way during the process of accelerating the shift in driving forces for development.
