Premier meets Italian president, vows to further cooperation

Premier Li Keqiang has met with visiting Italian President Sergio Mattarella in Beijing. Premier Li said that Italy is an important European partner to China and both countries can look forward to closer cooperation in the future.

Premier Li also said that China is willing to implement a development strategy with Italy, and promote trade and investment.

Mattarella said Italy and China agree on many issues, and that Italy is willing to promote cooperation to play a positive role in the development of China-Europe relations.

Mattarella arrived in China on Feb 21 and is scheduled to depart on Feb 26.
