Premier Li meets with Mongolian president in Beijing

Premier Li Keqiang met with visiting Mongolian President Tsakhia Elbegdorj on Nov 11 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

The Premier said during the meeting that China attaches great importance to the development of bilateral ties between the two countries. He said that China is willing to maintain high-level exchanges and enhance cooperation and communications in various fields with Mongolia. Premier Li pointed out that under the current global financial situation, the developing countries should help each other handle economic downward pressures.

Elbegdorj said his country is willing to deepen its cooperation relations with China. The president said Mongolia will expand trade with China in energy sources and livestock products. He said the two countries will also explore the start of negotiations on a free-trade agreement, and strengthen the construction of cross-border economic zones.
