Premier Li Keqiang has arrived in Brazil’s capital for an official visit, at the invitation of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff.

Premier Li will hold talks with President Rousseff and attend a joint press conference in Brasilia. He will also meet with presidents of the Federal Senate of the Brazilian National Congress, and the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies, and attend the closing ceremony of a business summit between the two countries.

Premier Li will then go to Rio De Janeiro to visit exhibitions of Chinese equipment manufacturing. Premier Li’s visit is expected to promote the China-Brazil comprehensive strategic partnership.

The two sides will sign a joint action plan, which serves as a renewal, complement and extension to the 2010-2014 joint action plan, aimed at further deepening bilateral economic cooperation.

Brazil is the first stop in Premier Li’s four-nation Latin America tour, his first to the region since he assumed premiership in 2013. Besides Brazil, Premier Li will also visit Colombia, Peru and Chile.
