Premier Li: Maintain momentum as growth slows

Updated: Feb 11,2015 11:44 AM

Despite the readjustment of its economic growth, China is determined not to lose momentum. That was the word from Premier Li Keqiang as he met with a group of new counselors of the State Council in Beijing.

Li told the counselors on Feb 10 that priority will be given to exploring new ways to maintain the initiative.

At 7.4 percent, China’s growth rate last year was the slowest since 1990. Sources say the country’s growth target this year will be set at around 7 percent, the lowest in 11 years.
