Premier Li Keqiang has left on a Eurasian tour that will take him to Kazakhstan, Serbia, and Thailand. During his two days in Kazakhstan, the Premier will meet with his counterpart Karim Masimov.

They’re expected to oversee the signing of scores of agreements in energy, trade, and investment. It’s part of President Xi Jinping’s initiative to revive a century-old trade route.

The Premier will also attend a Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in the Kazakh capital Astana. In Serbia, he will attend a summit with Central and Eastern European leaders, and in Thailand, a summit for the Greater Mekong Subregion.
