Premier Li meets Russian Defense Minister on military ties

Premier Li Keqiang has met with visiting Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and held talks on bilateral military ties.

During their meeting on Nov 18, Li said China and Russia are each other’s largest neighbor. And China is willing to strengthen comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia and will continue to promote practical cooperation. Li also voiced support for military technology cooperation and hopes for new breakthroughs.

Shoigu said Russia-China ties are of global significance and further enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership is especially important. He said Russia is willing to strengthen ties with China in all areas, including military coordination.

Shoigu is in Beijing to attend a China-Russia inter-governmental military technology dialogue.
