Premier Li Keqiang has ordered an immediate response to the Yunnan quake. He called for an assessment of the severity, and organizing rescue operations, relocating residents and providing supplies. He directed local authorities to fix the roads, as well as power and water facilities.

Premier Li also ordered precautions for aftershocks and the prevention of secondary disasters.
