Premier impressed by growth at Oppo

Premier Li Keqiang took an inspection tour of Oppo Electronics Corp, a Chinese electronics manufacturer based in Dongguan, Guangdong province, on Oct 13.

Oppo smartphones, upgraded from its traditional VIVO series products, have entered over 19 countries and regions, with sales numbers ranking fourth globally and second domestically. Premier Li spoke highly of its performance and said it has set an example for the upgrading and transformation reform in the manufacturing industry.

According to a local official in Dongguan, currently the differences between industries is obvious - the growth rate of traditional garment processing declined 15 percent, while industries such as electronic information exceeded 20 percent.

Premier Li said the trend shows that the transformation of old and new driving forces is being accelerated. He expressed the hope that the trend will continue, with new driving forces taking the lead and old ones staying vibrant.
