Last year 311 administrative approval items were canceled and delegated, resulting in a complete end to non-administrative approval, and 70% of the intermediary services that require administrative approval from State Council departments were canceled and adjusted, Premier Li Keqiang said at a meeting concerning the construction of clean government on March 28.

This year more administrative approval items of State Council departments and items designated to local authorities by the central government also will be cut down, Premier Li said.

Moreover, more than one third of the pre-approvals for enterprise registration will be canceled. Except for those relating to safety and environmental protection, all the mandatory assessment and evaluation for investment projects will be abolished, the Premier added.
