Premier Li shares special moments with world leaders

Suit up, shake hands and smile are part of the typical routine for diplomatic meetings, however, photographers used their cameras to catch some “special moments” of Premier Li Keqiang while he was interacting with other foreign leaders.

Meeting with Kazakh President Nazarbayev on Sept 1

Premier Li Keqiang said that economic security is the basic security for a nation as people need to improve their livelihood.

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said Premier Li proposed enhancing capacity cooperation when he visited Kazakhstan last year, and it was important to fully implement that plan and seek diversity in bilateral trade and enhance interconnection construction, initiating a new era for China-Kazakhstan ties.

Meeting with Serbian President Nikolic on Sept 2

Premier Li Keqiang said that Chinese companies will invest more in Serbia through market rules and for mutual beneficial results and will work with Serbia to develop the third party market, during a meeting with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic.

Meeting with Egyptian President Sisi on Sept 2

Premier Li said that anti-terrorism cooperation should be strengthened and that the economy should be developed in order to eradicate the opportunity for terrorism, while meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Sisi said that one important agenda for him in China is to attract more investment.

Meeting with Korean President Park Geun-hye on Sept 2

Premier Li agreed that China and South Korea should make efforts to set up meetings attended by the heads of China, ROK and Japan and said, “I wish Japan can go face to face with China and South Korea.”

Park said that the summit will be beneficial to regional stability and prosperity, and China and South Korea should help Japan to make contributions to the peace of Northeast Asian Region with the right understanding of history.

Meeting with Putin on Sept 2

Premier Li said that China and Russia share the same position in safeguarding the results of the anti-Fascist war and other major international issues when meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The peoples of the two countries have shown the world that we hold the same stance on the achievements of World War II,” Putin said. “We both object to attempts to deny or revise history.”

Meeting with Ban Ki-moon on Sept 3

The Premier said that promoting development and improving people’s livelihoods are the main tasks of the international community as well as stabilizing economic growth while reducing poverty and tackling climate change while meeting with the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

Meeting with France’s Foreign Minister Fabius on Sept 3

China and France should work together to make their developing of third-party markets and cooperation in the fields of civilian nuclear energy a leading example of South-North cooperation and a project that leads the recovery of the global economy, the Premier said when meeting with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius.

Meeting with Uzbek President Karimov on Sept 3

China is willing to carry out production capacity and equipment manufacturing industry cooperation in the fields that are of interest to both sides, cultivating new growth points and helping both sides to effectively respond to downward pressure amid the changing international economic situation, said Premier Li Keqiang while holding talks with Uzbek President Islam Karimov.

Met with Myanmar President Thein Sein on Sept 4

Myanmar President Thein Sein appreciated China’s assistance to Myanmar in flood-relief work and he hoped that China will keep helping in water conservancy measures, while meeting with Premier Li Keqiang.

Met with Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam on Sept 4

Premier Li Keqiang said that he is delighted to be briefed that the light rail line that was planned with Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn was already running.

He said it showed that there is a bright future for China and Ethiopia to strengthen cooperative efforts.
