Premier meets with Equatorial Guinea’s president

Premier Li Keqiang met with Equatorial Guinea’s President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo on April 29 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing and told him that China will work together with the African nation to turn the two countries’ traditional friendship into a driving force for common development and to further advance cooperation.

Li said China is promoting international capacity cooperation as it pushes forward economic growth and industrial upgrading via reform and opening up, while Equatorial Guinea is pursuing diversification and industrialization of the economy, which gives more ground for the two countries to work together.

The Premier said China is willing to enhance infrastructure cooperation with Equatorial Guinea and train people for its economic and social development; and expressed hope that Equatorial Guinea offers a more conducive atmosphere for Chinese enterprises to invest there.

Obiang said Equatorial Guinea treats China as a reliable partner. Thanking China for offering support for the social and economic development of his nation, he expressed hope for closer cooperation between the two countries and willingness to learn from China’s experience. He said he welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest and do business in his country.
