“Number One Village of online shops”
Premier Li Keqiang was greeted by villagers when he visited Qingyanliu in Yiwu, Zhejiang province, on Nov 19. Qingyanliu is known as China’s leading e-commerce village, as it is a base for entrepreneurs working with online stores.
There are now 10 times more shops involved in e-commerce than households in Qingyanliu, and Li said that though online shops are part of the virtual world they serve the real economy by exploring huge market potential. He also called the village the “Number One Village of online shops”.
Premier encourages business startups
Premier Li Keqiang visited a shop involved in online business in Qingyanliu village, Yiwu, Zhejiang province, on Nov 19. The owner started his business after graduating from college, and his sales per month has reached over 1 million yuan ($163,400), which led many of his employees to start their own business.
During his visit, the Premier encouraged one of the shop’s employees to start his own business.

Li visited a shop in Qingyanliu selling matching family outfits. The premier asked the shop’s owner questions about his business and checked the website - as the owner’s baby wearing one of the outfits made the Premier laugh, saying, “the cutie is a professional model”.
“You do great work”
Staff members at an express distribution center in Yiwu, Zhejiang province, were praised by Premier Li Keqiang for helping narrow the urban-rural divide and creating opportunities.
“You do great work,” the Premier said, noting that their efforts not only create jobs, but also improves lifestyle options for people.
Two-way delivery links various communities and brings people closer together, he said.
The Premier also said that express delivery is an important part of logistics, a vital component of the modern economy, and the work carried out at the center is significant.

Premier Li Keqiang visited an express distribution center in Yiwu, Zhejiang province, on Nov 19, as the local Youth League Committee was preparing donated supplies for children in poverty-stricken rural areas of Qinghai province.
Premier Li also made a donation and placed a heart-shaped sticker on one of the packages.
The Premier said that during an executive meeting of the State Council earlier in the day he had made arrangements to help children in poor areas - and he asked the committee to make sure the donated supplies would reach children in need.
