German Chancellor Angela Merkel wished Happy Birthday to Agriculture Minister Han Changfu at the opening of the third round of China-Germany Intergovernmental Consultations in Berlin on Oct 10.

Merkel hoped Han would have a pleasant day although he would not be spending it with his family. Premier Li Keqiang proposed a toast to Han, humorously wishing national food security could be ensured.
