Premier Li meets UAE prince

Premier Li Keqiang met with Muhammad, prince of Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), who is in Beijing on a state visit on July 22.

Premier Li said that UAE is China’s most significant cooperation partner in the Middle East and the Gulf region. China-UAE ties and cooperation have been making steady progress since its establishment. Both sides respect and support each other in their core interests and major concerns.

With China-UAE ties lifted to an all-around strategic partnership, China is willing to step up political mutual trust with UAE, beef up synergy of development strategies, and deepen multifaceted cooperation, in a bid to bring benefits to both nations and people, the Premier said.

China and UAE enjoy highly complementary economic types, ushering in broad prospects for cooperation. Boasting a huge market and thriving industries, China is expanding opening-up, constructing a market-oriented, legalized, and internationalized business environment.

China is open to sovereign wealth funds and private capital from UAE, striving for further reciprocal achievements, the Premier said. And China is willing to jointly propel the negotiations of Free Trade Zones between China and the Gulf region along with UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council members, bringing more convenience to bilateral free trade.

Mohammad agreed that China-UAE ties will scale new heights with cooperation in all fields coming into fruition. UAE has full faith in China’s economic development and is willing to deepen cooperation with China in energy, finance, technology, and aviation, among others.

And UAE will expand its investment in China, facilitating China-UAE relations to go deeper.

State Councilor Wang Yi and He Lifeng, director of the Development and Reform Commission, also attended the meeting.
