Premier instructs creating more jobs for college graduates

Premier Li Keqiang called for creating more employment opportunities for college graduates in an instruction to a national video conference on employment and entrepreneurship on May 13.

Promoting employment and entrepreneurship, especially for college graduates, is essential for healthy economic growth, people’s livelihood and stability of the society, the Premier said.

He asked local governments and related departments to pay attention to the high employment pressure this year as the number of college graduates has reached a new high.

He said the government must make creating jobs its priority to ensure that the employment objectives are met.

The Premier said better employment services, especially for social groups like college graduates, veterans, migrant workers, and those who have difficulty finding jobs should be provided.

He also instructed to improve business environment, implementing tax and fee cuts, and help enterprises in creating jobs, so as to promote a virtuous circle of economic growth and employment.

He called to promote entrepreneurship and innovation, and to develop new industries, in a bid to create new realm of employment.

Premier Li also stressed to implement the enrollment expansion program of vocational schools and professional skill improvement program, in order to strengthen the support of human resources for high-quality development.

Vice-Premiers Sun Chunlan and Hu Chunhua both addressed the conference.
