Premier Li Keqiang said China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are important cooperation partners while meeting with UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on April 25 in Beijing.

Premier Li said the two nations have maintained stable and healthy relations since the establishment of their diplomatic relations 35 years ago.

President Xi Jinping’s visit to UAE last year has pushed the bilateral ties to a new stage, he said, and China welcomes more investment from UAE with its huge market potential.

China, Premier Li said, is willing to enhance comprehensive friendly cooperation with UAE, and strengthen communication in international and regional affairs for common development.

Sheikh Mohammed said UAE values its relations with China, and the two nations enjoy strong cooperation in all sectors.

He said UAE firmly upholds the one-China policy and supports the Belt and Road Initiative, adding that he expects more solid strategic ties with China for more results in pragmatic cooperation.
