Premier Li Keqiang visited an office in charge of tax and fee cuts during an inspection tour to the State Taxation Administration on March 21.

There, a countdown board hung on the wall, which said: “10 days before the improved VAT reform starting April 1”. The latest progress could be seen through road maps, timetable and a list of the names of people in charge.

Learning that staff there were working overtime to ensure the implementation of larger-scale tax cuts as scheduled, Premier Li praised their efforts. “What you have done is reduce the burden on enterprises, and the market will owe you for more vitality,” he said.
