Premier Li Keqiang examined the K1567 train’s fourth carriage at Jining South Railway Station, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, at around 5 pm on Feb 1 during his inspection of the region.

The K1567 train connects Baotou city in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Dalian city in Northeast China’s Liaoning province.

The Premier asked migrant workers onboard whether they had been fully paid or encountered any difficulties.

Having been informed that the K1567, stopping at 26 stations, would run for over 30 hours, Premier Li said that although high-speed trains are in full operation, China’s transportation system still requires green trains that offer low-priced tickets and stop at every station on their way.

China is a developing country with varying levels of development in different regions. That considered, a variety of railway services should be guaranteed to cater to all types of passengers, the Premier said.

No matter the type of train, Premier Li added, it is supposed to transport passengers home safe and sound.
