Premier Li Keqiang met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who came to China for the 2018 Summer Davos Forum in Tianjin, on Sept 19, 2018.

Premier Li said that Sino-Serbian comprehensive strategic partnership is growing. The Serbian president’s meeting with President Xi Jinping on Sept 18 achieved fruitful results, and injected new driving power into the development of Sino-Serbian relations, he said.

China is willing to work with Serbia to continue supporting each other on core interests, and expand intertwined interests to further consolidate the popular will of bilateral relations, the Premier said.

Premier Li said China is willing to connect the Belt and Road Initiative with Serbia’s development strategy, give full play to the leading role of transportation infrastructure and production capacity cooperation, and further promote mutually beneficial cooperation.

Both sides have the same goal and concept under the “16+1 cooperation” framework, he said. He also expressed the will for closer cooperation to add new driving power to regional and bilateral economic development.

Vucic spoke highly of Premier Li’s speech delivered at the opening ceremony of the 2018 Summer Davos Forum. The Serbian side attaches great importance to China-Serbia relations, and is willing to learn development experiences from China, he said.

The Belt and Road Initiative is mutually beneficial, with related projects significantly promoting Serbia’s economy, Vucic said. Serbia expects to deepen comprehensive cooperation with China, and achieve mutual benefits, he added.
