Premier hails ties with Republic of Congo

Premier Li Keqiang met with President of the Republic of Congo Denis Sassou Nguesso on Sept 5 in Beijing.

Sassou Nguesso had attended the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

Premier Li said since the establishment of diplomatic ties, the two countries have always respected each other, treated each other equally, and have stood the test of changing international situations.

The talk between President Xi Jinping and Sassou Nguesso has injected new vitality into bilateral relations, he said.

The Premier added that China is willing to maintain high-level exchanges with the Republic of Congo, enhance political mutual trust, and connect the Belt and Road Initiative with the nation’s development strategy, pushing bilateral relations to a new high.

For his part, Sassou Nguesso said the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation has further boosted the cooperation between China and Africa.

The Belt and Road Initiative, he said, is helping African nations achieve their development goals.

The Republic of the Congo is willing to increase high-level exchanges with China, and conduct cooperation in infrastructure, communication, and agriculture, to achieve win-win results, he added.
