Premier Li Keqiang demanded improvements in emergency management system and prevention of fatal accidents during production in a written instruction to a teleconference on July 27.

He asked State Council departments and local governments to strengthen supervision on production safety, prevent and control risks and punish those who violate laws and regulations.

With the monsoon and tourism seasons already underway, safety measures should be implemented to protect people’s life and property, he said in the instruction.

Vice-Premier Liu He and State Councilors Wang Yong and Zhao Kezhi attended the conference.
