Highlights from Premier’s discussion with deputies

Premier Li Keqiang stressed opening-up, innovation, and administrative streamlining in discussions with deputies from provinces and autonomous regions. Here are some highlights of the Premier’s counsel from those meetings.

The significant achievements over the past 40 years rely on reform, and future development will still depend on it.

What is reform? It is emancipating and liberalizing productivity.

— At a panel discussion with economic and agricultural advisers at the first session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), March 4.

All beneficial elements should be gathered for better productivity to create a favorable business environment, bringing more benefits to enterprises and people.

The regional government should strive for development with better quality, better economic structure and more sense of gain for the people.

— At a panel discussion with deputies from South China’s Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region at the first session of the 13th National People’s Congress (NPC), March 6.

The slogan, “One trip at most, and all the procedures can be done,” cannot be belittled, as government function can truly change if it can be achieved.

Zhejiang province should give more power to enterprises, provide more convenience for the people, and stimulate more market vitality and social creativity.

— At a panel discussion with deputies from East China’s Zhejiang province at the first session of the 13th National People’s Congress, March 7.

Liaoning province should further liberate minds, deepen reform, and expand opening-up.

The province should focus on the coastal economic belt as an open platform, and support the development of Northeast China and regional strategy.

— At a panel discussion with deputies from Northeast China’s Liaoning province at the first session of the 13th National People’s Congress, March 8.

The goal of reform is to bring convenience to enterprises and people as much as possible. Ningxia should continue its efforts in innovation to turn itself into an inland hub for reform and opening-up, adding vitality to the market while bringing convenience to people and propelling the economy to a higher level.

Hunan’s role is as the backbone of supporting development in the central regions with its new growth momentum. The central government will firmly support all suggestions on innovative development.
