Premier Li and Israel’s prime minister send good wishes to high-tech expo

On Sept 7, Premier Li Keqiang and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu both sent a letter of congratulation to the 5th China (Mianyang) Science and Technology City International High-tech Expo.

The expo is being held in Mianyang, Southwest China’s Sichuan province, with Israel as the guest of honor.

In the letter, the Premier said scientific innovation was high on China’s agenda, as the new-round technology and industry revolution was emerging in the world. He added China was trying to maintain a middle and high-speed economic development and upgrade the economy by promoting supply-side structural reform, fostering new growth drivers and implementing the innovation-driven development strategy.

“We are willing to expand international cooperation by docking innovation strategies with other countries, in order to facilitate the recovery and development of the global economy through scientific innovation,” he said.

The Premier expressed his willingness that China would like to strengthen innovative cooperation with Israel, creating new growth momentum, as both countries have established diplomatic relations for 25 years and have just set up an innovative comprehensive partnership this year. He hoped both sides could connect innovation strategies, enhance communication so as to promote win-win cooperation between the two countries.

Netanyahu said, in the letter, both Israel and China are proud of their splendid civilization, and aspire for progress and creativity. He added the two countries could promote cooperation in sci-tech, innovation, and research and development. Netanyahu said he believed the expo would effectively promote the economic, trade and scientific cooperation between the two countries.
