Premier Li Keqiang sent a letter to the Global Business Incubation Summit, which was held in Chengdu, the capital city of Southwest China’s Sichuan province on May 11.

In the letter, the Premier said business incubation was an important method for creating technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as speeding up the transformation of scientific results and promoting coordinative innovation.

In the past 30 years, China’s business incubations have developed greatly, involved more than 400,000 start-ups, and created more than two million jobs, which played a key role in promoting economic and social development, he said.

The Premier then stressed China’s economic development is now in a key period of transformation of shifting the growth model and replacing old growth drivers, and spoke about the upgrades of economic structures.

The country will carry out a new development concept, implement an innovation-driven strategy, promote mass entrepreneurship and innovation to establish a new-type of industrial ecology, and build up new stronger driving engines, he said.

The Premier also added China was willing to work with other countries to form new innovation forces and add new dynamics to the global economy.
