Premier Li hails friendship between China and Guinea

Premier Li Keqiang hailed China’s friendship and cooperation with Guinea during a meeting on Nov 1 with President Alpha Conde, who is on a state visit to China.

Premier Li said that Guinea is the first sub-Saharan African country to establish diplomatic relations with China. China and Guinea enjoy a deep traditional friendship and solid political mutual trust, and accomplishments in all sectors have been made between the two countries.

Last year, President Xi Jinping had an amicable in-depth talk with President Conde at the Johannesburg Summit and Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and China is willing to make joint efforts with Guinea to bring the China-Guinea relations to a new level, Premier Li said.

The Premier also said that there are obvious complementary advantages between the two countries, and China is willing to make good use of bilateral cooperation and innovation cooperation, carry out capacity cooperation, strengthen cooperation in sectors such as infrastructure, and share experiences in economic development and poverty reduction.

China congratulates Guinea’s success in fighting Ebola and is willing to strengthen cooperation in dealing with serious infectious diseases, the Premier said.

Conde said that Guinea appreciates China’s longtime support and assistance with its economic and social development, especially China’s help in fighting Ebola. Guinea thinks highly of China’s African policies and is willing to learn from China’s development experiences to strengthen cooperation in infrastructure construction and agriculture and bring bilateral relations to a new level.
