Premier Li meets with Guinea-Bissau PM

Premier Li Keqiang met with Baciro Dja, prime minister of Guinea-Bissau, in Macao on Oct 10.

The Guinea-Bissau prime minister came to attend the Forum of the Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.

China and Guinea-Bissau have always adhered to the principle of mutual respect and treating each other equally, according to Premier Li.

China respects Guinea-Bissau’s choice of development path suitable to its own situation and is willing to maintain high-level exchanges, consolidate political mutual trust, and increase pragmatic cooperation with Guinea-Bissau, the Premier said.

The Premier also said that he hopes that Guinea-Bissau can make the best of the Macao economic and trade cooperation service platform and promote pragmatic cooperation with China to boost development and bring benefits for both countries.

Baciro Dja said that Guinea-Bissau and China treat each other with respect and are sincere friends. Guinea-Bissau fully appreciates China’s unconditional support and assistance to its national liberation and economic and social development.

Guinea-Bissau is full of confidence in bilateral cooperation and is willing to maintain high-level exchanges, enhance communication and coordination in international and regional affairs, increase pragmatic cooperation within the frame of China-Africa Cooperation Forum and Forum of the Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, and promote the development of relations between China and Guinea-Bissau, and relations of the Economic Community of West African States, Portuguese-speaking countries, and Africa with China, he said.
