Premier Li starts first inspection trip to Macao

Premier Li Keqiang leaves Beijing for Macao Special Administrative Region on Oct 10 morning, starting his first inspection tour to the region.

During his stay in Macao, the Premier will attend the fifth Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries with prime ministers from Portugal, Cape Verde, Republic of Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique and government representatives of Brazil, Angola and East Timor.

He will hold bilateral meetings with several government leaders from these countries and inspect the Macao SAR.

All circles in Macao are looking forward to the Premier’s visit, as several media outlets in this region are highlighting the tour, and the main streets are flying flags to welcome him.

The Premier’s trip will discuss development goals for Macao, which is undergoing deep economic adjustment, said Ma Iao Lai, president of the Macao Chamber of Commerce.

And the public expect the Premier’s visit will promote the deep integration between Macao and the Chinese mainland.
