Premier promotes Made in China on many fronts

One year after China proposed the Made in China 2025 strategy, Premier Li Keqiang visited a heavy truck plant in Hubei, and was invited to be a booster for the Made-in-China products on May 23.

In the past year, wherever the Premier went, he was always concerned about the Made-in-China products, and held high expectations for them.

Shiyan, Hubei province

During his inspection tour to Hubei province, the Premier visited a heavy truck plant in Shiyan and was also invited to refuel oil for a new-type truck. The Premier said he is not only fueling for Dongfeng, but also for all Made-in-China products.

“Quality revolution of ‘Made in China’ will depend on the craftsman’s spirit and craft innovation, and the key is consumer-oriented. Companies should upgrade made in China products through gradually satisfying consumers’ increasing needs,” said the Premier.

Ningxia Hui autonomous region

The Premier inspected the Kocel Machinery Co Ltd in Yinchuan, capital of Ningxia on Feb 2. The company, founded in 1966, used to be a State–owned enterprise foundry. However, after reorganization, it has now made a revolutionary breakthrough in 3D-printing.

The Premier called the transformation “turning a clunky woman into a fair lady”, adding that it represents the integration of “Made in China 2025” and the Internet, and will lead the transformation of growth engines.

The Premier said new-energy vehicles industry is an green industry when he visited an automaker in East China’s Anhui province on Oct 30.

He said the innovation is the real engine for the company’s development, and the government will take multiple measures, including putting forward supportive policies and improving the charging network, for the development of new energy vehicles to build up China’s national auto brands.

Mass entrepreneurship and innovation is not only for small and micro-sized companies but also for large companies, Premier Li Keqiang said during a visit to a leading mining machinery manufacturer in Luoyang, Henan province, on Sept 23.

He also expressed the hope that workers, technicians, and social maker groups will use Internet Plus to promote Chinese brands and equipment to go global, demonstrate competitive capacity and create China’s own golden brands.

The Premier visited a plant of DHI DCW Group Co Ltd, a heavy machinery manufacturer in Dalian, Liaoning province, which has pioneered innovative technologies in heavy equipment.

As China is pushing forward the Made in China 2025 strategy, equipment manufacturers should take the opportunity to transform themselves by boosting intelligent manufacturing and improving their core competitiveness, the Premier said.

The Premier visited the onshore assembly site of a marine engineering company in Dalian, Liaoning province, on Sept 12, 2015.

After seeing the drilling platform the company made for its European and American clients, the Premier said the drilling platforms needed high technologies and low construction costs and Chinese equipment have a big cost-performance edge.

The northeastern area will be revitalized in the future through international production capacity cooperation, said the Premier.

China Nuclear Power Engineering Company, Beijing

China will promote nuclear power on a larger scale at home and abroad as it steps up the upgrading of manufacturing and seeks more global deals, Premier Li Keqiang said on June 15 during his inspection to China Nuclear Power Engineering Company.

He said that Chinese nuclear power companies should develop equipment that is in line with the international standards if they want to sell abroad, and collaborate with developed countries in Europe and America to explore third-country markets.

The Premier inquired about the Hualong One Reactor, a domestically developed third-generation reactor design.

“Safety is a must and should be ensured throughout the whole process, from design to operation. I hope you can adapt the highest standards, offer the best quality with the most competitive prices,” he said.

Quanzhou, Fujian province

Promotion of the Made in China 2025 program should be accelerated to maintain the medium to high speed of China’s economic growth, the Premier said on April 23.

He made the comments during a visit to the J-TECH CNC Machinery Co Ltd in Quanzhou, Fujian province. The company established a data processing center for industries such as aerospace and communications.

The Premier was told that Quanzhou has made detailed regulations concerning the program, and he encouraged the local authorities to lead the way.

Premier Li visited a plant of China CNR Corporation Limited in Changchun, Jilin province on April 10.

The Premier said that the key for the company is to ensure good quality and good after-sales service. “I support Chinese equipment and I hope you will support our country and create a lasting gold brand,” he said.

He also told the workers that, as Chinese equipment enters the global market, they should learn the essential technologies and conform to the highest standards — so as to ensure the quality of the equipment.
