The 7th Congress of the National Delegation of the China Association of Inventions (CAI) was held in Beijing on May 16.

China has been the source of many innovations, scientific discoveries and inventions and played an important role in the progress of human society, Premier Li Keqiang said in an instruction to the event.

He praised the efforts the association has made in encouraging innovation, and promoting the development of science and technology.

China is implementing an innovation-driven strategy, and promoting entrepreneurship and mass innovation, which will inspire people’s creativity to the utmost, the Premier said. With the development of new technology, new industries, and new economy, economic and social development will be greatly motivated.

Premier Li said he hopes the association will continue to help create a good environment for innovation and cultivate talent with innovative ideas, and contribute to the construction of an innovative country.
