Premier sends condolences to Belgian leader over Brussels attacks

BEIJING — Premier Li Keqiang on March 22 extended condolences to his Belgian counterpart Charles Michel following the deadly attacks in Brussels on the morning of March 22.

Premier Li said in the message that he strongly condemned the cruelty of the terrorists, while expressing his deep condolences to the victims and their families.

“China firmly supports Belgium’s efforts in cracking down on terrorism and safeguarding national security,” said the Premier, expressing a willingness to step up cooperation with Belgium and the international community in combating terrorism.

At least 34 were killed in a series of terrorist attacks on the morning of March 22 in the Belgian capital.
