Premier Li Keqiang attended a joint press conference with leaders who were attending the 14th Meeting of Prime Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Zhengzhou, Henan province, on Dec 15.

Premier Li said, “The meeting is fruitful and pragmatic as all parties have reached consensus in promoting cooperation in all areas to a higher level, optimizing investment and business environment, transforming pattern of economic development, and promoting regional development and prosperity.”

“The cooperation between China and Kazakhstan gives an example of production capacity cooperation as achievements have been made since last year’s SCO meeting in Astana.”

“With the principle of voluntariness and opening up and within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, we would like to keep promoting international capacity cooperation which will optimize the distribution of capital, technology, and resources, improve supply and demand, promote industrial transformation and upgrades, accelerate regional industrialization and modernization, and study cooperation in third-party markets,” he said.

He stressed that on the basis of openness, transparency, equality and inclusion, all parties decided to deepen regional cooperation in security, interconnection, finance, regional trade, and social affairs.

He also emphasized that directed by the “Shanghai Spirit”, “all parties will jointly promote the development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, push forward cooperation in all areas into a higher level, promoting regional prosperity and stability and making contribution to world peace and development”.
