Premier, Netanyahu send congratulations to innovation forum in Shanghai

Premier Li Keqiang and his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, extended their congratulations to the 2015 Pujiang Innovation Forum, which opened in Shanghai on Oct 27.

In his message, Premier Li said China has been promoting mass innovation and entrepreneurship nationwide to drive new development.

“Grassroots groups are joining elites to create new businesses, while enterprises of all sizes are working together to seek innovation. It has stimulated the development of emerging industries and the upgrade of traditional ones, which then contribute to income growth and social justice,” said Premier Li.

As the main guest of honor at this forum, Israel is renowned for many world-leading achievements in multiple scientific and technological areas.

Premier Li said China is willing to work with Israel to tap the potential for cooperation in scientific and technological innovation as a new highlight in bilateral relations.

For his part, Netanyahu said innovation in technology, products and services is imperative against the backdrop of fierce global competition, and the forum offers an important opportunity for experts from all over the world to exchange ideas and cooperate with one another.

Created in 2008, the annual Pujiang Innovation Forum is jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the municipal government of Shanghai.
