China looks forward to tapping the potential for cooperation with the Netherlands in energy, modern agriculture and water projects, Premier Li Keqiang said on Oct 26.

“As close economic partners, China and the Netherlands should support cooperation between energy enterprises of the two countries to jointly explore third-party markets,” said the Premier during a meeting with King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, who is on a state visit to China.

Premier Li called on the Netherlands to play a constructive role in smoothing China-EU relations, as the country will take the rotating presidency of the European Union for the first half of 2016.

The king said the Netherlands, with technical advantages in agriculture and animal husbandry, seeks to strengthen cooperation with China in green development.

The Netherlands will also enhance policy coordination with China on multilateral occasions and push for the healthy development of China-EU ties, he said.
