China hopes to strengthen cooperation with Armenia in fields such as nonferrous metal and building materials, Premier Li Keqiang told visiting Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan in Beijing on Sept 22.

The government supports Chinese companies taking an active role in projects to build roads and nuclear power stations in Armenia, as well as expanding cooperation in the aviation industry and tourism, the Premier said.

China is also willing to strengthen people-to-people exchanges and hopes to improve understanding between the two peoples through “China Culture Day” to be held in Armenia next year, he added.

Armenia welcomes Chinese companies to take part in infrastructure projects such as highways and railways, said Abrahamyan.

The country is willing to cooperate with China in the fields of energy, mining, cement and flat glass, and to strengthen cooperation in light industries, agriculture, tourism and aviation, added the prime minister.
