Premier Li Keqiang on Sept 4 sent a letter of congratulations to a forum gathering presidents of Chinese and Russian universities majoring in the sciences of transportation.

The Premier noted in his letter that cooperation in transportation is a new spotlight of the two countries’ cooperation as the China-Russia all-round strategic partnership is deepening.

According to the Premier, promotion of this cooperation in infrastructure and interconnection is an important part of the construction of the Silk Road economic belt and the Eurasian Economic Union.

The forum focused on high-speed rail cooperation between China and Russia, which is significant as it is in line with the strategic needs of the two countries, the Premier noted.

He also encouraged engineering universities of the two countries to learn from each other, expand cooperative areas in training, scientific research and social services, and upgrade the level of cooperation, making a contribution to bilateral cooperation and the friendship between two peoples.
