On the afternoon of June 2, Premier Li Keqiang visited four passengers rescued from the capsized ship at a hospital in Jianli county, Hubei province.

The hospital and the government will do their best to treat them, the Premier said.

Thirty-five-year-old Jiang Geng, who floated in the river for four hours before being rescued, was in the hospital. Premier Li touched Jiang’s forehead to check his temperature and told him to rest assured and not worry about the medical bill.

A passenger ship, carrying 458 people, capsized and sank at around 9:28 pm on June 1 in the Hubei section of the Yangtze River.

The Premier arrived at the scene of the accident early on June 2.
