Premier Li Keqiang sent a message of congratulations to British Prime Minister David Cameron on the Conservative Party’s win in Britain’s general election on May 8.
China and the United Kingdom have made favorable progress through pragmatic cooperation in recent years, Li said in his message.
Deepening cooperation and close communication over international and regional affairs will not only benefit the people of the two countries, but also have significant meaning to the whole world, as China and UK are countries which have a great influence in the international community, he said.
Li said that China is ready to work with the UK to strengthen mutual trust and expand bilateral cooperation to witness more results from the win-win and inclusive comprehensive strategic partnership relations between the two countries.
“I am looking forward to meeting and talking with you in the new round of the Annual China-UK Prime Ministers’ Meeting when it is convenient for both sides,” Li said.
