Premier Li Keqiang set deadlines for the State Council’s policies and decisions to be distributed to lower levels of government.

He made the move at an executive meeting of the State Council on April 21.

Policies and decisions approved by the State Council’s executive meetings and jointly released by different ministries should be distributed within seven days, Premier Li said.

Policies and decisions released by the State Council and approved by its executive meetings should be distributed within seven days after approval.

If the policies and decisions approved by the executive meetings require further revision, they should be distributed within 10 days after approval, the Premier added.

Decisions made at the State Council’s executive meetings must be issued and distributed as soon as possible, said the Premier.

“We must not allow these decisions to wait a long time for signatures of officials with lower-level departments before they are distributed,” he said.

Also, after they are issued, the policies and decisions should be implemented effectively, the Premier added.

“We must not allow State Council policies and decisions to give false hope and fall short of the public’s expectations due to bad implementation,” he said.
