China is willing and has the expertise to participate in Argentina’s efforts to revitalize its transport infrastructure and develop nuclear energy, Premier Li Keqiang said on Feb 5 in Beijing.

With its rich experience in key sectors, including rail, nuclear power, electricity and telecommunication, China is well-positioned to play a constructive role in the South American country, he told visiting Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner.

China has the technology, high-quality equipment and also competitive prices, he said as he pointed out that as major developing countries and emerging markets, China and Argentina are natural partners for cooperation.

The countries should explore “a package” of cooperation that links financing and the direct trade of commodities, he added.

The Premier also called for greater cooperation in agriculture, fisheries, energy and education, as well as closer coordination over global affairs.

The Argentine President said her visit to China marked a new starting point to bolster the relationship and her nation places great importance on the comprehensive strategic partnership.

Argentina would like to continue high-level exchanges, and to deepen cooperation with China in various areas, including infrastructure, nuclear energy, telecommunication and education, she said.
