Premier, Afghan chief executive officer exchange congratulation letters

Premier Li Keqiang and Afghan Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah exchanged letters of congratulations on Jan 20, celebrating the 60th anniversary of China-Afghanistan diplomatic ties, as well as the Year of China-Afghanistan Friendly Cooperation, being marked this year.

The Chinese government treasures the friendship between the two countries, and is making great efforts in developing the China-Afghanistan strategic and cooperative partnership, Li said.

The Chinese government supports Afghanistan’s peace and reconstruction efforts, and is keen to work with Afghanistan to develop its economy and improve people’s lives, and help it achieve long-term stability, he added.

Abdullah said the Afghan people treasure the deep friendship with the Chinese people, and his country will take the opportunity of the Year of China-Afghanistan Friendly Cooperation to enhance understanding between the two peoples.
