Premier Li Keqiang and his Mongolian counterpart, Norov Altankhuyag, on Oct 16 exchanged congratulations on the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties between their countries.

In his congratulatory message, Li said China and Mongolia are important neighbors whose relations have withstood the test of international vicissitudes and kept progressing steadily.

The Premier noted that China-Mongolia relations have entered a new era since the two countries established a comprehensive strategic partnership.

China, he added, stands ready to work with Mongolia to strengthen high-level exchanges, boost political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, and expand people-to-people exchanges, so as to bring more concrete benefits to the two countries and peoples.

For his part, Altankhuyag said it is a top priority in Mongolia’s foreign policy to develop friendly and good-neighborly relations and win-win cooperation with China.

In the past few years, visits between the two countries’ leaders, parliaments and parties have been frequent, and their cooperation in politics, economy, national defense and culture has experienced fast development, said Altankhuyag.

China’s guideline of “amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness” in its diplomacy with neighboring countries has created favorable conditions not only for the development of Mongolia-China ties but also for the promotion of regional cooperation, he noted.

The Mongolian leader added that he would like to work together with Li to further boost the development of the two countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership.
