The National Forest Fire Prevention Headquarters will now be known as the National Forest and Grassland Fire Prevention and Control Headquarters, according to a decision recently made by the State Council.
The personnel will be reshuffled after the move. State Councilor Wang Yong will become commander-in-chief of the headquarters. The board of deputy commanders-in-chief includes Huang Ming, Party secretary of the Ministry of Emergency Management, Wang Yupu, minister of emergency management, and Meng Yang, deputy secretary-general of the State Council.
Other members are from different ministries and bureaus such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Public Security.
The office of the headquarters, located at the Ministry of Emergency Management, will be headed by Wang Yupu and will undertake the daily work.
